Launch of Oxfam Responsible Data Management Training Pack, London 4th May – An event organised by Oxfam and Internews in
cooperation with CDAC Network
Fantastic new training pack!
Managing data properly may be the greatest challenge of the information age. So there's great excitement around the launch of a new pack developed by Oxfam to help us treat the data that we collect in our programmes with respect, and uphold the rights of people whose data is included. Visit to get sight of the principles of RDM, the planning processes to use, and how to handle unexpected issues in different contexts. Among a leaflet on managing the data life-cycle responsibly; jargon busters; posters; top tips for taking photos in humanitarian crises and more there's card games exploring real-life decision-making dilemmas.

For example, agree or disagree: 'Using drones offers really exciting potential to get images from otherwise inaccessible areas', or 'what would you do if young men who've agreed to be interviewed for an assessment start to look uncomfortable and worried as you go through your questions'. For many there is no hard and fast rule, it depends on the context but this training pack hopes to make staff at HQ and country level more aware of issues of data management.

Date – Thursday 4th May starting at 6pm
