Richard is the global Director of Programmes at BBC Media Action, overseeing the organisation’s portfolio of media development, humanitarian and content impact initiatives worldwide. Richard joined BBC Media Action in 2012 and spent nearly a decade in Dhaka, leading projects on economic development and resilience – including the ground-breaking Amrai Pari project, which helped millions of people in Bangladesh better understand and adapt to climate change. As country director, he established life-saving information and accountability programming for Rohingya refugees and local Bangladeshi communities. Richard’s career also includes launching a leading community radio project in the UK and working on multimedia initiatives across Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
